Tomorrow when the War Began Written by John Marsden, Tomorrow When the War Began the first book part of the Tomorrow series. This book explains the life of seven teenagers who fight for their lives during war. The story kicks off when the teenagers decide to go on a camping trip all the way up in the Rocky Mountains at an enchanted place called Hell. After enjoying a few days up in Hell, the seven friends head back home, but as they enter the town, they see nothing. Not a single glimpse of live. No parents in sight, their pets are terribly sick, some even dead. Everything has been destroyed, set alight. The town was silent, abandoned. Their world had turned to dust. They were extremely worried about what had happened. They had the thought that their parents would be at the showground, and they were right, but instead seeing their parents enjoying. They saw that their parents and the other town members, were captured and held prisoner by heavily armed soldiers. Not until they saw the soldiers they realised the truth. They were at war! Unprepared, they went against gunshots and they put everything on the line, they were ready to sacrifice everything they had, including their lives. The fear of being sighted crept through them every second of every minute . Darkness shadowed them, fear overtook them. What if their enemies shadowed their every step? What we’re they going to do? Would their world survive??? This book was first published in 1993 with the other books in the series following. All the book as part of the series start off with captivating titles which drags the reader's attention in. These books are narrated in first person perspective from Ellie, the main character From my perspective, the book shows how these seven teenagers overcame some problems during war, together as a team This fictional series shadows the life of all these teenagers and their fight for freedom. This book is full of suspense. Some might even think things like, Will their fight for justice pay off? Will they survive? This book is not recommended from children under the age of 12, as it brings out a lot of emotion and could frighten younger children. Read the Tomorrow series to follow these teenagers on their adventure to save their freedom.

Tomorrow When The War Began Has there ever been a moment where you went outside of town and wondered what is happening in it? Anything at all even if it’s a dot of ink? Seven teenagers inside TWTWB have experienced it. The book Tomorrow When The War Began was published in 1993 by a fabulous author, John Marsden. This is the time when the series kicked off! The series is the Tomorrow series. The first book came out when mobile phones were as big as calculators and the internet was just invented. This book haunted me after I finished the book. I think whenever I’m camping and wonder if everything will be same when I return. In this story seven ordinary teenagers go bush camping for a weekend somewhere called ‘Hell’ (Tailors Stitch). After a few days they return home and found it trashed, broken and faded away. They were hoping nothing had happened to their homes and their parents and family but when they did arrive, their homes were abandoned with dead pets. There was no sign of life in town. Because of this, the teens remember all the planes flying over their campsite and that was the sign of something terrible happening. They only began to realise when they went to the local showgrounds and saw armed soldiers with their family and friends trapped. They were forced to fight for their lives and people. They knew it was war... This is the first book which attached me to reading proper novels. For other people like me who didn’t want to read, this would be perfect. This book would be an excellent starter novel for early teens (12+). Marsden has done a great job.
TWTWB Book Review The book Tomorrow When The war Began is about 7 teenagers called Ellie, Homer, Fi, Robyn, Corrie, Kevin and Lee going camping to a strange place called “hell”. But after they come back from camping in hell they knew something was wrong. When they go to the showgrounds they see soldiers keeping everyone hostage. Their hearts get shattered and they hod only one choice, war. Ellie was the main character who narrated this story. She was lucky because this book was presented as a speech by John Marsden. Ellie is the girl who likes Lee. Homer known as the troublemaker is the leader who decides to make plans. Homer is also Fi’s boyfriend in the book and movie. Lee is the boy who Ellie found interesting and Lee is also a silent person who stays alone mostly. Also Lee likes Ellie. Robyn is the girl that is the friend of Corrie and Ellie with strong and religious beliefs. Robyn also doesn’t have a crush on anyone. Corrie has a very special friendship with Ellie and they mostly spent their childhood together. Also Corrie is Kevin’s boyfriend. This book was first published in 1993 and the movie was published in 2010. The cast of the movie was Catlin Stassey as Ellie, Phoebe Tonkin as Fiona Maxwell, Rachel Hurdwood as Corrie Mackenzie, Lincoln Lewis as Kevin Holmes, Deniz Akdeniz as Homer Yannnos, Chris pang as Lee Takkam and Ashleigh Cummings as Robyn Mathers. Their page count is 286. This book to me is an invasion anti-war novel type story. The best thing I liked about this book was when they blow up the bridge because that was the only epic thing in the story. The thing I didn’t like about this story was when called the camping place hell. They could have called it something else like Camping sight. I loved this book so i will give it a 8/10
This book is a great book 👌👌
