This book is one that will keep you up at night- but under the covers and with all the lights on. It's an amazing read that can be described as nothing other than peculiar.

A mysterious island. An abandoned orphanage. And a strange collection of very curious photographs. It all waits to be discovered in "Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children", an unforgettable novel that mixes fiction and photography in a thrilling reading experience. As our story opens, a horrific family tragedy sets sixteen-year-old Jacob journeying to a remote island off the coast of Wales, where he discovers the crumbling ruins of Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children. As Jacob explores its abandoned bedrooms and hallways, it becomes clear that the children who once lived here - one of whom was his own grandfather - were more than just peculiar. They may have been dangerous. They may have been quarantined on a desolate island for good reason. And somehow - impossible though it seems - they may still be alive. A spine-tingling fantasy illustrated with haunting vintage photography, "Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children" will delight adults, teens, and anyone who relishes an adventure in the shadows.

The Miss Peregrines Peculiar children series is one of my all-time favorites. The first book is really awesome and I think that even if this book doesn't really seem like something you would normally read you should still give it a try, at first I thought this book was going to be a horror novel it all starts out with a death and a strange creature then Jacob goes into this old abandoned children's home on a scary island but once he meets Miss Peregrine and her peculiar children I found out that it's really more of a fantasy novel and it's not so scary after all there are a few parts where they are running away from monsters and it gets a bit intense but other than that it's actually a really sweet. So If you like fantasy, action, adventure, and a little bit of romance you should definitely read this book.
I started it and thought it was slow. Me and my "mother" read it, and hated the ending. Me, my sister, my mother, and my best friend all read book one and didn't even want to read book two. A good friend of mine read the whole series and loved it. I don't but my opinion is my opinion don't mind. Anything and everything I say is an opinion. Well, BYE!
This book is really drawing me in. I love the author's descriptions & how the book is slightly creepy and very interesting at the same time. It isn't overdoing the creepiness, but it's just enough to keep me on the edge of my seat and making me want to read more. Can't wait to finish this one.
The book is absolutely good. It had many superpowers and fantasy content. All the characters portrayed their part and connected in some way or another. There is action packed into the book.
This book is right off the top peculiar! The characters are all very interesting people and it has a pretty good base of the tale!! This book includes a little bit of magic and what I like to call "trixie".
sooooooo good, highly recommend if you are in a mood for mystery! Very imaginitive! must read !! It is so creative, it should be a book everyone should read at one point in their life.
I watched the movie before I read the book, which I know is so bad, but I loved the book so much more. I love that the love story wasn't as prominent in the book, because it seemed really weird in the movie.
Miss Peregrines Home For Peculiar Children is a book that is followed by the fantastic movie that I have watched. Its great and I think the book is great too.
I loved this book! It took me about a week to read. I remember not being able to put it down. Even when I was about to watch the movie I was finishing it! While watching it I quickly tried reading it! Everyone should read this!
