So this book is about a boy that just is funny, A joker and a kid comedian. he Makes bullies laugh. I funny: A middle school story is great! I loved it!

Jamie Grimm has had some tough knocks and he is now living with his aunt and her family, the humorless Kosgroves. He uses a wheelchair and lives in his aunt's garage. To make matters worse, his cousin Stevie is the school bully. Jamie uses humor to make friends as well as help himself out of difficult situations. His goal is to be the world's first "sit-down comic" and win the Planet's Funniest Kid Contest. Although he's had his share of hardship, revealed later in the book, he manages to pursue his dream. With the help of his kindhearted Uncle Frankie, as well as an assortment of friends, Jamie navigates his new life, follows his dream, and establishes a supportive community for himself.

“I Funny” is a story of hope. Jamie Grimm faces some very difficult circumstances. Some kids in his position would want to give up or feel sorry for themselves. But despite the fact that he’s stuck in a wheelchair and living in his relatives’ garage, he wants to make people laugh. He has a dream of being a stand-up comedian – and he doesn’t let his circumstances stop him from pursuing it. Jamie doesn’t take his dream lightly. He works for it – reading every joke book he can get his hands on… memorizing jokes… and even coming up with his own original jokes. His friends and the customers at his Uncle Frankie’s diner willingly hear his material and encourage him. Jamie even visits the hospital where he spent a year recovering from his accident and gives an impromptu comedy act for the patients. Plus, Jamie’s friends and family (other than Stevie) show good qualities. His buddies Pierce and Gaynor don’t treat him like a cripple. They even squat down when hanging out with him, so they can see him eye-to-eye. Plus, when Jamie gets carried away during his act and pokes fun at his family and friends, they readily forgive him – and even laugh at themselves.
