Evocative of Alice in Wonderland, this novel from New York Times bestselling author Lauren Oliver is a bewitching story about the reaches of loyalty and the enduring power of hope. Perfect for fans of the author’s other middle grade novels: Liesl & Po and the Curiosity House series.

Looking across the breakfast table one morning, twelve-year-old Liza feels dread wash over her. Although her younger brother, Patrick, appears the same, Liza knows that he is actually quite different. She is certain that the spindlers—evil, spiderlike beings—came during the night and stole his soul. And Liza is also certain that she is the only one who can rescue him.

Armed with little more than her wits and a huge talking rat for a guide, Liza descends into the dark and ominous underground to save Patrick's soul. Her quest is far from easy: she must brave tree-snakes, the Court of Stones, and shape-shifting scawgs before facing her greatest challenge in the spindlers' lair, where more than just Patrick's soul is at stake.

I did not like this book! Its about a girls who is rude to her brother! At some points this book was just plain creepy!

This was a great and imaginative story! So many great creatures and characters woven in this magical world, it was hard to put the book down. I liked the way Lauren shaped Liza. She was a fearless, smart and highly independent character. The best part is, the end was open enough if Lauren chose to write some more, she could. (I hope she does.) It was something at the end that had my hopes going for more, but I can't share it with you. You have to read it.

The Spindlers is a very exciting book about a girl with a brother named Patrick loses his soul over night, and Liza knows that the Spindlers are off to steal soles of many others. And Liza has to rescue her brother before it's too late, and she might lose her own.

Can somebody tell me how good this book is? I've heard it's good, but i've never read it. Apparently it's about a girl whose brother's soul or something disappeared. PLEASE answer!

This book is about a girl named Liza fighting against the spindlers to rescue her brother Patricks soul from getting eaten at the feast of souls. Along the way she meets a rat, her nocturni, and a few lumper-lumen, also known as glowworms.

Although her younger brother, Patrick, appears the same, Liza knows that he is actually quite different. She is certain that the spindlers—evil, spiderlike beings—came during the night and stole his soul. And Liza is also certain that she is the only one who can rescue him.

This is a great imaginative book about these creepy spider creatures that feast on souls The main character get's herv brother's soul extracted from his bodyb and she has ventured into the Below to retrieve him. It is not as creepy as it seem and makes friends with a talking rat. i definetly recommend this book for it's adventurous qualities!

This book was really good! I love the main character, Liza because she isn't afraid and she wants to help her brother. The adventure she goes on to find the "Spindlers" is hilarious because of all the characters she comes across! I would highly recommend it!
