This is one of my most favorite series. It was really fun to read and the sequel Scumble really completed it. The story all starts when Mibs awaits her "Savvy", or her magical power that will come in when she is 13. When her dad really needs her help, Mibs assumes her power will be as great as the rest of her family's. From a perfectionist to weather control to electricity, Mibs takes a chance and climbs on board the Mystery Van and solves a mystery of her own. Her self discovery. I really recommend this book if you like magic and adventure!

This book has an interesting concept, but the plot is scattered and there is little to no character development. It is an okay book if you have some time to spare.

Mibs- a twelve almost 13 year old girl wanting a speichal savvy. A savvy, it's a speical power you get when you turn 13. It's like mind reading or elctrisady. With her father in a car crash and not able to wake up, Mibs must get there to help.

Savvy is a book filled with adventure, and amazing characters. It's about a girl named Mibs whose family has magical gifts. As she eagerly waits for her thirteenth birthday (the day she will get her savvy, or superpower) her family learns that her father had been in a terrible accident that landed him in the hospital. Mibs sets out a crazy, hectic trip to save her Poppa.

Savvy is wonderfully well-paced and perfectly explained, and I love the idea and how creative the author was with their wording. This book definitely stands out differently from all the other books I've read - And not in a bad way. I really do enjoy a new writing style every once in awhile, and Savvy hits the spot. Whoever you are, you will enjoy this book!

Percy Jackson fans will enjoy. when Mibs poppa gets in a accident and is hurt, Mibs is almost positive that her savvy is healing power. she wants to get to poppa as soon as possible but she goes on a bus the opposite way. Will she get back in time?

The book Savvy, by Ingrid Law is a wonderful fantasy novel. It's about a girl named Mibs who is turning thirteen, and in her family, turning thirteen means that she will receive her special ability called a Savvy. On her older brother's thirteenth birthday his Savvy was to control electricity, and her other brother named Fish is able to control the weather. Everybody in her family has a Savvy except her dad. Mibs is very excited for her birthday. What will her Savvy be? Will she be strong enough? Ingrid Law is mind blowing! She's an amazing storyteller. Her characters are delightful and interesting. There were many surprisong and interesting twists in this story. I could NOT put this books down. In the end this book left you wanting more! I think that the message of this book is, don't be in a hurry to grow up. In conclusion, this book really interested me, and raised multiple questions in my mind, such as "What would my Savvy be?" and "Would my Savvy be life changing?" I would really recommend this book to elementary students and above.

This book is extremely boring. I would NOT recommend this book. My teacher read this book to us (my class) and everyone was super bored.

What? How was it boring?

(WARNING, SPOILERS) Awesome! It is about a kid(girl) named Mibs Beaumont who's family lives on the border of both Kansas and Nebraska. But Mibs has an interesting family: a family that gets a special power called a Savvy. Mibs has a big family: Dad, Mom, Rocket, Fish, Samson, Mibs, and Gypsy. They all(except the dad, he is a normal person) get a special power when they turn 13, Mib's mom is perfect, her dad has no powers, Rocket can blow fuses and produce shocks of electricity, Fish can make violent weather changes, and Mibs has no power yet, since she is only 12. Samson and Gypsy are too young. Anyway, on Mibs 13nth birthday, she was extremely excited, but suddenly,Mibs father is in a car crash on a highway, and her father was sent to Salina Hope Hospital, which was far away. The kids found out on a Sunday during Church, and only Mib's mom and Rocket could go visit their dad in the hospital(Because Rocket's sparks ran their station wagon). Mibs is stuck in church with Fish and Gypsy and Samson, but they meet a girl and her brother at church, Bobbi and Will Junior. Will secretly likes Mibs, and Bobbi only likes rocket, and doesn't like Mibs. But Mibs is convinced that her savvy is to make someone wake up, after she wakes up Gypsy and Samson's turtle(supposedly dead). Mibs decides to secretly hitchike on a bible delivering bus. Mibs, Fish, and Samson goes, along with Bobbi and Will junior. After a long bumpy ride, meeting new people and places, at the end, Mibs discovers that her Savvy is to be able to read minds when there is a pen/tattoo mark on them. Soon, they reach the Hospital(After many mishaps) and Mibs listens to her dad's tattoo of a mermaid. Mibs starts to talk to her dad, and miraculously, he wakes up. It all just goes to show how important family is.

Savvy is a great book, with a story about family that is spiced up with just a pinch of magic! In the book, a young woman named Mississippi, or "Mibs", strives to find her place in the world. Along with her are a group of friends that she had never expected. Throughout their journey they come by some crazy things that could only happen to them. In the end, however, the story is not as much about the magic as it is about the heartwarming family aspect of the book. It teaches you to appreciate any "flaws" that you might have, because the fact that you got them from your family is good enough.
