My daughter and I read this book just after she purchased the Saige doll. My daughter loves to paint and seemed to develop a closeness with the character in the book. This was a great book to read for the two of us, its well written, and its a very positive book for children, when Saige wanted to save the arts she put together a fundraiser and other events to help what she loved. My daughter was completely in aw of Saige and in turn wanted to do good things and work hard as well!

I thought this book was really good! It was so descriptive! And VERY well written. I loved how at the end it turned out that Tessa still cared about her and they were willing to still be friends, but just not as close as they were before. But even though she lost a really close relationship with Tessa, she gained a really close relationship with Gabi. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that i wished it was longer. But overall it was a GREAT book and i definitely recommend it!
I do not like this story. I'm reading it right now but it has too much girl stuff. I don't really understand the stuff in the story.
Saige school needs has low budget cuts. So they decided to have art one year and music one year. The first year was music. Saige loved art and did not want this to happen so she wanted to show everyone what it is like not to have art in the world.
Saige was one of my favorite American Girls! She is sort of a tomboy to me and she loves horses and flying on hot air balloons! I hope many people are like her!
i loved this book a lot . maybe you should read it because it is that good.i loved the book so much i want to read it again.
I really like horses and just by the cover I think it has to do something with the horse on the cover. To me this book seems like a very good book, even though I don't like American Girl.
I really want to read this book. I have seen the movie, and I love american girl doll. Saige is a great character, she's an artist like me! Can't wait to read it!
Upset that her New Mexico school can only afford music and art teachers in alternate years, fourth-grader Saige works with her grandmother, Mimi, to plan a fundraiser but when Mimi has an accident, Saige relies on new friend Gabi to help.
I read this book because I didn't have anything else to read at the time. It was ok. I did think it was better than the movie.
